The Arc de Triomphe and the River of Life

I keep seeing the area of the Arc de Triomphe having rivers of living water running underneath it and then going out throughout France and then other nations, bringing life.

Ezekial wrote of a vision he had of a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem with a river flowing under it’s threshold (Ezekial 47:1-12) and how that water flowed towards the Dead Sea, bringing life to that which is dead. This can also be associated with the “river of life” described in Revelation 22:1-2: “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

This river of life described in Revelations is said to be 12 great rivers flowing down 12 great broadways going through 12 gates into all parts of the earth, and there will be many fountains of water of life in the city and many lakes and rivers in the earth. I believe that it is significant that there are 12 main streets (or broadways) that go out from the Arc de Triomphe.

In the garden of Eden, it is described that there were four rivers. Genesis 2:10: ” And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four parts.”

I believe it is also significant that France has 4 major rivers:

The Seine: which flows through Paris and northwest into the English Channel

The Rhone: which starts in the Alps and flows south to the Mediterranean

The Loire and the Garonne: which both start in central France and flow west to the Atlantic.

As a side note, martyrs in the past in France were drowned in some of these rivers. Thousands of Huguenots were drowned in the Loire river which is the longest river in France. Joan of Arc’s ashes were also thrown in the Seine after she was burned at the stake. I often think that, as when they killed Jesus, if the devil had known what was going to happen, then he wouldn’t have done it. I believe the Lord hears the cries of the blood in the rivers in France, but as a recompense, will turn the rivers into living water, bringing the fullness of the Holy Spirit. I am not saying that France is like the New Jerusalem or the garden of Eden, but because of these correlations presented here, I believe the Lord wants to bring His river of life to the spiritual deadness. He wants it to flow through France and then empty into major waterways….the English Channel, the Mediterranean, and the Atlantic and therefore touch many other nations with the knowledge of the true King, Jesus.

Since there are also 12 tribes of Israel, I pray that France also, by way of those 12 broadways going out from the Arc de Triomphe to all corners of the earth, will reach the Jewish people with the news of the Messiah, having a major part in these last days helping them return to Israel.

One day in my house in the countyside here in France, while just doing the dishes, and not really thinking!, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “You know, the word “massacre” is a French word. They had to make a  new word because they had so much killing on their own land.” I knew this was the Lord because I certainly don’t think about massacres while doing housework! I looked up the word, and it seems that, yes, it became a term used after the massacre of thousands of Huguenots (protestants) in Paris in 1572. Their massacre continued all throughout France into the next century. And then there was the massacre of mostly Catholic women and children in this western part of France in the late 1700′s. They didn’t seem to be fighting (in fact, they didn’t want to fight but there were orders for them to be “exterminated”) particularly for a religion but that God would be King in their lives. They wore a heart attached to a cross stitched in red fabric over their hearts on their jackets and often was written underneath “Dieu est Roi ,God is King. They lost to humanism, and then the Huguenots before them never really won and thousands of them were obligated to escape to other countries and many will tell you that they “yearn” for France even generations later (some who yearn for France, I believe, don’t know they are Huguenot descent and the Lord is telling them to pray and/or come back. )To this day, though, protestant churches (especially evangelical) are still looked upon with suspician as potential cults and even some have been closed by “secret police” and continue to be. But I do believe that God is preparing for His Glory to really come in to the whole nation and no “secret police” can hold it back. There is a preparation starting now in the spirit urging France to reconciliations and repentances in order that it would come in line with it’s God given destiny for Europe and the world. I believe God is having mercy on France due to the blood of the martyrs on the ground. France has to recognize changes it has to make such as to stop singing the National Anthem (The Marseillaise) that sings about killing it’s own people.

One night last year,I had a dream that I was in an underground, what seemed to be military headquarters, for I saw what looked like a general in uniform manning the switchboard. I believe it was an underground Christian army, who with the Holy Spirit, pray for the nation of France.I was walking down a long corridor with a friend who is in the Christian network with me here and all of a sudden a huge flash of light came suddenly with much force. I had had a flashlight in my hand and the batteries had fallen out and were old and expired and were rolling down the hallway while I was frantically trying to gather up new batteries while hearing the Lord saying “Be Ready!” I believe this is a correlation with the story of the virgins in Matt. 25 being ready with oil in their lamps for when the bridegroom comes. Matt. 24:44 also says “Be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh”.

Then suddenly in the dream, we were above ground in a large old cathedral in France and a large tomb with martyrs who had been buried together in a line was open. What appeared to be a woman martyr was sitting up in the tomb and she was holding her head which had been cut off by the guillotine and her head was speaking. I said to my friend, “Hurry, we don’t have much time, we have to get her head back on her body”. We began placing her head back on her body while it spoke. I believe that putting the head back on the martyr so that she can speak symbolizes speaking for them, speaking for those who have no voice, but also ,the crying out of the blood from the ground is like their voices are starting to be heard louder lately. I was interested that this martyr was a woman, I think because so many martyrs in France have been women and children. She was also wearing an armor like Joan of Arc when she would fight in battles but I knew it wasn’t Joan because Joan had been burned at the stake. She  seemed to symbolize the nameless and faceless women and children in the Christian army here in the past who died in the name of God and/or died defending France so that it would fulfill it’s destiny. The number of children martyred in France , I believe, destins the French youth to recieve a great move of God today.

So I appeal to those who have a heart for France, to pray, it appears to be an important time for there is a stirring in the spirit, that France will do what has to be done to recieve God’s Glory and then carry it’s destiny. I believe the martyr’s shedding of blood was not in vain. Psalm 9:10-12 says “And they who know your name (who have experience and acquaintance with your mercy) will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You (on the authority of God’s word and the right of their necessity) Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion! Declare among the peoples His doings! For He who avenges the blood (of His people shed unjustly) remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted (the poor and the humble).”

I saw some signs of spiritual change in France again yesterday. On two channels on the news, they were speaking about how the people of Vendée (a department in the West of France) were asking for a public apology from the French government (the Republic) for the massacre of more than 100,000 women and children between 1793 and 1796 after the French Revolution. These people in the countryside had tried to resist the change that the Republic wanted to make of taking God out of everyday life, but they lost to humanism. I think about these people almost everyday because I drive past a large stone cross on one of our fields on my farm, one of many crosses in the region marking the place where a bloody battle took place. I also think about them because my maternal grandfather’s name comes from this very region and many of that name are on the list of people who died in that war. I knew all these years that they were mostly peasants, farmers, ordinary people, but who loved God, so much that, not having any weapons, they often fought with anything they could find such as farm tools and pitchforks, but I did not know until yesterday when I heard on the news that more than 70 percent of the 100,000 massacred were women, children and youth. I did know of one story of how a little boy playing the drums marched in front of their army and the republic army shot him on the spot. There are paintings of this, done at that time, confirming this. The historian on the news yesterday said that supposedly the army of the republic did not want to “waste” gunpowder on the women and children, so killed them in ways with such atrocity that it cannot even be repeated. The women and children who were not killed immediately, those couple thousand were drowned on boats on the Loire River in Nantes, a town one half hour from here.

The journalist on the news said to the historian almost in a mocking tone “But, monsieur, this massacre happened many years ago”, and he replied with the sound of much conviction as if it was not long ago and said “Yes, madame, but it is the same Republic that killed those women and children that governs this country today”.

I do think that the people who are asking for this apology from this region do know that if any French president would recognize this as a genocide publically, it would be Sarkozey, and I believe the Lord is behind this and that if this is done, some kind of spiritual breakthrough will come.

After thinking about all this yesterday, I woke up very early this morning thinking about the French National Anthem – The Marseillaise. It was written during the French Revolution and sung during the war here (La Guerre (the war) Vendéen). I got up and looked up the words. A few phrases in the first part goes:
O hear across our countryside
Those raging cut-throat soldiers come
To slaughter our children,our wives,
Whom they wrench from our lovingarms!

refrain:Rise up,brave citizens!In battle order march!
Let’s march! Let’s march! May our land with tainted
blood be soaked!

This was speaking of anyone who came against the Republic was a cut-throat, but the opposite was true and they were the murderers of the women and children. It’s a chilling thought to think that they may have even sang this song as they killed people in this region, but also that it is now to this day sung at the French presidential and governmental functions, a song about spilling blood on the land (and this is of it’s own people’s blood, the French!) I hear that some have tried to change the National Anthem over the years, but to no avail. I pray a new one will be sung that will glorify God oneday.

In conclusion, I feel that since attention is coming to the fact of so many youth and children having been martyred in this nation, this includes also the many Huguenot children that were massacred mostly more south of here in many regions in the 1600′s, I believe as a result of this, because the blood cries out from the ground, that the Glory of God that comes on the French youth is going to be extremely radical! Also, I believe the Lord is going to continue to call attention to things that must be changed or repented for in this nation.

Three years ago in March, I felt led to drive up to a meeting in Paris where an American evangelist and a well-known French prophet were going to speak. The event was being held in a small church and I was surprised to see only about 50 to 75 people in attendance. Even though it was a small get together, the air felt thick with intensity and I was feeling it was a privilege to be there at that moment.

The revivalist and the prophet stated that they had both been receiving from the Lord recently that we in France were entering into a three-year period of preparation in the spirit. They then said that after these three years, revival would come in France which would include much repentance but then also persecution.

I went home, feeling very serious about the time we were entering into. I remember e-mailing a friend in the US, saying it felt like a “pressure cooker” here in France and I had to pray. The intercession continued for months and I felt led by the Lord to not go visit family that summer but to stay on our farm and fast and pray. I began hearing very strongly in my spirit “core of repentance” over and over and I would see the very center or “core” of France black with sin. At the same time I was seeing in the spirit, people falling on their knees and faces in repentance even in the streets when people carrying God’s Glory as the disciples did, would pass. I sensed the Lord saying that the core part of the people will repent in this nation, that it would be like a nationwide Brownsville revival, but different, and French style (however that would be).

I could not get the vision out of my mind and was praying a lot in the spirit for weeks until one day I said to the Lord,” Maybe I’m making this up, anyway it’s tiring, so I think I’ll try to stop thinking about this for a while”. I then proceeded to go out to a hardware store. There were some people in the store but none in the section where I was looking at paintbrushes for artists. All of a sudden, a man came walking by me and fell in a kneeling position with his arms outstretched before him and his face to the floor and he seemed to be trembling a little. He was directly next to me, only a few inches away . I, being a nurse by profession, knew that this was not an epileptic seizure or cardiac arrest or anything else I’d seen before and then I remembered the vision I’d been seeing. Since I thought this might be the power of God, I waited, standing beside him. A woman came up and stood beside him but didn’t seem too worried and said nothing. He then stood up and said to me with a big smile “Excusez-moi Madame, but it seems my knees just gave out from underneath me” and then he said jokingly “I guess I was just saying my prayers!” He then continued jokingly “You know this happens to me at mass sometimes, my knees just go out from underneath me and I say I’m sorry for my sins.” He appeared to have nothing wrong with his knees, he wasn’t limping or anything. He and his wife thanked me (I hadn’t done anything) and starting walking away together and both turned back smiling, saying “If we need you in the future, we’ll call you!” This all seemed very strange, plus the man seemed to have much light in his face. To this day I believe that they were angels and it was the Lord confirming to me that a widespread repentance like this would be coming to pass someday.

I had forgotten about the meeting in Paris and this experience of the man falling on his face and knees, but then the Lord had reminded me of it just recently when I was in a store and a woman crumbled to the floor, right on my feet while we had been waiting in a line. I helped her up and she was weak, I had to hold my arm around her to hold her up, and she started to pour her heart out, she said “Oh, madame, la vie est dur (life is hard)”. I felt the Lord saying to me after this, that the people in this nation are feeling burdens that they carry are becoming too heavy, that it’s weighing on them, but also that their knees are becoming weak, due to they are discouraged, nothing satisfies anymore in the world. When a great move of the Holy Spirit comes, people will readily pour out their hearts and will receive the Lord.

I am writing this now due to this coming March is the end of the preparation that I had heard prophesied about three years ago. There has been great acceleration in the spirit and talk of repentance and reconciliations, plus major events involving prayer are being planned. All of this could be leading to a repentance revival very soon. As we all know, it is “not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit” says the Lord. I believe that because of the prayer and fasting that many people have done and continue to do for this nation, plus because of the blood of the martyrs on the land, the Lord is going to answer with a great move of the Spirit of God.
